KRIVSKA
ABOUT THE ARTIST
KRIVSKA

Krivska is a 24-year-old artist from North Carolina who specializes in soulful abstract designs. Her style of art is very intuitive and requires little to no planning. She places herself in front of the canvas and allows the art to flow freely, continuing to add layers of designs and colors until the piece feels complete. She views the art-making process as deeply therapeutic and meditative, allowing for free expression and connection to self and spirit.
Krivska describes her art as a visual representation of her mind and soul. She has stated, “to see my art is to see me, and to feel my art is to feel me.” The process of creating reminds her that beauty and chaos can coexist, both in life and within herself. She hopes that viewers of her work can feel the energetic presence of each piece, and be reminded that there is unique magic and inherent value within each of us, no matter how messy we are.
The name Krivska is the feminine form of her legal last name Krivsky, which was inherited from her Czech great-grandfather who moved to the U.S. in his lifetime. She felt drawn to identify with Krivska after learning that women in the Czech Republic take this form, rather than the masculine ‘-sky’. This became a way to both reclaim a cultural aspect of her lineage, and to make a statement regarding her own personal connection with the powerful, creative feminine force within.
Krivska has quite the free spirit and landed on a whim in Encinitas, California while on a cross-country road trip. After living there for a year and a half, she moved to Portland, Oregon on (another) whim. However, she longs to spend the next chapter of her life traveling the world. Her pressing desire to seek wisdom and knowledge through the stories, experiences, and philosophies of other humans and cultures keeps her inspired for what is to come.
